LENTEN SEASON

Most Christians regard the Lenten season as an opportunity to give up a meal that we tend to eat frequently or too quickly between meals. However, the true and unique purpose of lent is to place ourselves within the realm of our savior, Jesus Christ. He was stranded in the wilderness for 40 days with no food. On countless times, he became enticed using the devil. For the remission of our sins, he sacrificed his very existence while on the road. The purpose of those 40 days, as much as Christ's resurrection, is to assign ourselves. To give up or devote oneself to something other than the usual. Lent is a time when we shall all offer compassion and hospitality in various ways. Jesus didn't live his entire life so that we may hate one another. Lent is a season of sacrifice as well. We have the option of sacrificing something vital to us during this season. I used to give up the things that were the easiest to give up when I was younger, such as meals that I rarely ate. Attending mass while wearing a face mask and shield was one of the many challenges faced by Catholics. Others will not allow you to leave the house. The Covid-19 Pandemic is placing a lot of strain on us, particularly our religion. We may, however, utilize the Pandemic to reflect on ourselves and contemplate how we could do something good and better. Consider how you can better yourself and others' lives. Because this pandemic affects us all, including our commitment to church, now is an excellent time to consider our activities and make changes.
