Most Christians regard the Lenten season as an opportunity to give up a meal that we tend to eat frequently or too quickly between meals. However, the true and unique purpose of lent is to place ourselves within the realm of our savior, Jesus Christ. He was stranded in the wilderness for 40 days with no food. On countless times, he became enticed using the devil. For the remission of our sins, he sacrificed his very existence while on the road.
